†Albertosaurus sarcophagus was the type species of †Albertosaurus — a slender tyrannosaurid from the Late Cretaceous (~76-70 Ma) of Alberta, Canada. Reaching ~9m and 2,500kg, it was a fast bipedal predator with binocular vision and serrated teeth. A Dry Island bone bed containing 26 individuals suggests social or gregarious behavior, unique among tyrannosaurs.
