Albinykus baatar

†Albinykus baatar was a tiny alvarezsaurid theropod from the Late Cretaceous (~80 Ma) of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia. About 0.5m long, it was a feathered insectivore with highly reduced forelimbs bearing a single robust claw for probing insect colonies. Named by Nesbitt et al. in 2011 from the Bayan Shireh Formation, it adds to the diverse Mongolian alvarezsaurid fauna.
