Austroraptor cabazai

Austroraptor cabazai

† Austroraptor cabazai was a Late Cretaceous dromaeosaurid theropod from the Allen Formation of Río Negro, Argentina. One of the largest known dromaeosaurids at approximately 5 m long, it possessed a long, low snout unlike most raptors. Its distinctive skull morphology suggests a piscivorous or specialized carnivorous diet adapted to Patagonian wetland environments.
