Bauxitornis

Bauxitornis

† Bauxitornis was a Late Cretaceous enantiornithine bird from the Csehbánya Formation of Hungary. This small carnivorous bird inhabited the insular Hateg–Transdanubian archipelago of Late Cretaceous Europe and is known from fragmentary skeletal material. Its recovery from European island deposits provides evidence for the wide distribution of enantiornithine birds across Cretaceous island systems.
