Brodavis mongoliensis

Brodavis mongoliensis

† Brodavis mongoliensis was a Late Cretaceous hesperornithiform bird from the Nemegt Formation of Mongolia, representing a rare Asian record of this otherwise North American-dominated group. This large carnivorous diving bird provides evidence for the dispersal of hesperornithiforms across the Tethys Sea or via the Asiamerican land connection during the Campanian–Maastrichtian.
