Cimolopteryx

A genus of Late Cretaceous birds from North America, Cimolopteryx is known from isolated tarsometatarsal bones recovered from the Lance and Hell Creek Formations. A carnivorous bird living alongside the last non-avian dinosaurs, it belongs to Cimolopterygidae and represents part of the diverse avian fauna present just before the end-Cretaceous mass extinction.
