Dynamoterror dynastes

† Dynamoterror dynastes is a large tyrannosaurid dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Menefee Formation (~80 Ma) of New Mexico, USA. Estimated at 9–10 m in length, it was a formidable apex predator of Campanian Laramidia. Its name means 'powerful terror ruler,' reflecting its large body and predatory dominance. Described in 2018 from fragmentary material, it provides evidence for an early Campanian radiation of large tyrannosaurids in the southwestern United States.
