† Massospondylus carinatus was a 4-6m sauropodomorph from the Early Jurassic Elliot Formation of South Africa. Among the best-known early dinosaurs, it shows evidence of parental care in a nest site with hatchlings, and embryos inside eggs are among the oldest dinosaur embryos known.
