Duriavenator hesperis

Duriavenator hesperis

†Duriavenator hesperis ('western Dorset hunter') is a megalosaurid theropod from the Middle Jurassic of Dorset, England. Estimated at ~7–9 m, this carnivore is among the better-known Middle Jurassic large theropods from Britain. Reassigned from Megalosaurus after detailed study, its Middle Jurassic age makes it valuable for understanding megalosaurid evolution in Europe.
